Seeds I Plant In My Garden
Botanical Interests is one of my favorite seed companies! I love their commitment to the environment, the land, and quality seeds.
They offer sustainable, biodegradable, organic, high quality, made in the USA products, and a variety of high quality, organic, and heirloom varieties of seeds. They have a passion for making things both beautiful (you gotta see their gorgeous seed packet designs!) and easy to grow.
We love a nice do-gooder company, and Botanical Interests is definitely that!
I am a proud ambassador for the company, which means if you use my code:

Vegetable Seeds
There are some things I make sure to plant each year in my vegetable garden:
🌱 Tomatoes (A few heirloom, a few Teardrop or cherry, and a few San Marzano or Roma sized varieties for canning)
🌱 Carrots
🌱 Peppers (Both sweet and spicy)
🌱 Cucumbers (Great for climbing)
🌱 Squash & Pumpkins
🌱 Lettuce (Black Seeded Simpson, Romaine, and Leaf are some favorites)
🌱 Peas (Great for trellises)
🌱 Beans (Can be grown as bush varieties or vining for trellises)
🌱 Beets
🌱 Radishes (Quick growing & great in colder early spring/late winter)
🌱 Turnips
🌱 Rutabagas
🌱 Broccoli & Cauliflower
🌱 Brussels Sprouts
🌱 Spinach
🌱 Arugula
🌱 Celery
🌱 Cabbage
Definitely don't feel like you need to grow all of these—especially if you are just starting out. You can always just choose a few to try and get started with.
Here are things I grow occasionally, because they need a lot of sun and water, and can sometimes struggle in my climate, but they are both super fun to grow!
🌱 Corn
🌱 Watermelon
*Notably absent here are onions, because I prefer to grow those from sets (little onion bulbs), and you can read more about those on my website.
Also, garlic, because that is a crop that is grown in the fall.

Flower Seeds
As I get older, I find myself loving flowers more and more. I used to use all my space for edible and medicinal plants, but over time, I found myself wanting to devote more and more space to flowers. Not only are they beautiful and fun for arrangements, they are also wonderful for inviting pollinators to your garden.
Here are a few flowers I love to grow each year. Check out the photos below for more details and selection.
🪻 Sweet Peas (I love the scented varieties—they smell amazing!)
🪻 Zinnias (Wonderful for cut flowers)
🪻 Straw Flowers (Great for drying & making garlands)
🪻 Sunflowers (So whimsical and fun, plus great for wildlife and pollinators)
🪻 Amaranth (A stunning and interesting plant)
Definitely don't feel like you need to grow all of these—especially if you are just starting out. You can always just choose a few to try and get started with.

Tea Supplies
I think you will find growing and brewing your own teas is one of the most magical parts of your garden. People are often overwhelmed by tea, but it is really quite simple once you get going. If your tea garden isn't up and running yet, you can still practice brewing.
My favorite place to buy tea supplies is Azure Standard. They are a wonderful local family business that cares about people and providing healthy products.
One unique thing about Azure is you have the option to have products shipped straight to your door, or, to save money and get to know your community better, you can pick them up at a local drop station.
And it is not just tea stuff—not at all! You can get such a wide range of groceries, personal care items, gardening supplies—even live plants! Here are a few of my favorite tea things for now, though!
These are a must have! Place them on top of your favorite mug, add tea, and boiling water, then cover with a mason jar lid to steep until desired (15 minutes is typical). Then remove the strainer, discard the herb, and enjoy! HOT TIP: You're going to want a few so you have options when they're waiting to be washed.
These are fun for when you make sun tea, or infused oils with herbs. After it's done steeping, you can pour it out and the strainer keeps the herbs out of your next container. Super handy!
You will want to store your herbs in jars, out of direct light so they last a good long time. These are some larger jars to store bulk amounts of herbs.
My current obsession! This has worked wonders for my sleep. If you don't have your own Roses to brew, this is a great substitute.
Roses aid sleep with their specialized compounds. Dreamy!
I love to grow my own Chamomile, but in my small space, I am not able to grow enough for the whole year. Since I drink this nightly with Rose petals for sleep, digestion, and my immune system, I supplement with Azure.
Lemon Balm is such a powerhouse of an herbal tea for its anti-viral properties, and also for the way it soothes anxiety and welcomes sleep. It is very easy to grow, but for convenience, you can also get it at Azure.
Another fun way to use herbs is by making Oxymels. These are infusions that use the herbs with honey and vinegar as the base of these healing recipes.
While I try to buy things from Azure as much as possible, there are a few things they don't have yet. If you are looking for infusers, dehydrators, drying racks, and more, see the Tea Time section of my Amazon Shop.
